Abstract

The objective of the present study is to analyze the relationship between the psychologicalwellbeing (health) of the athletic and non-athletic teachers and their leisure time activities. The statistical population includes all teachers in Shahin-Shahr, Esfahan, Iran (totally 280 people); by applying the Morgan Table, 167 people are as the sample. To achieve the goals of the study, two questionnaires- Hassanzadeh’s Leisure Time Questionnaire (2006) and Goldberg and Hiller’s Questionnaire (1979) .The validity of both questionnaires was approved by 15 experts and the reliability of the two questionnaires, by Cronbach Alpha; were 0.79 and 0.82 respectively. By using SPSS software and by descriptive and deductive methods (such as Kolmogorov Smirnoff, independent t, single-sample t, Spearman correlation coefficient, Chi-Do and analysis of variance or ANOVA) the data analysis is done. The results show that the teachers’ psychological health is meaningfully at a good level (t=12.22, P=0.001). Furthermore, the athletic teachers spend more of their free time on exercising than the non-athletic ones.
