Abstract

The prevalence of unsportsmanlike conduct and misconduct among football coaches has a detrimental effect on the sport as a whole. This phenomenon manifests in the form of clashes between players and coaching staff, altercations with referees, fan violence inside and outside stadiums, and widespread controversies in cyberspace. Therefore, it is imperative to devise effective strategies to combat aggressive behavior among coaches in the Persian Gulf Pro League, which is the objective of this research. This research was conducted with an applied goal and a qualitative approach using a descriptive phenomenological framework. The research participants consisted of experts relevant to the subject. The sampling method was purposeful and snowballing, and the sampling continued until non-repetitive concepts could be extracted from the interviews. The data collection tool was a semi-structured interview, and MaxQDA version 20 was used for data analysis and categorization. To determine the validity and reliability, criteria such as validity, transferability, dependability, and confirmability were utilized. The factors influencing the reduction of aggressive behaviors among coaches in the Iranian Premier League included 82 sub-themes categorized into 10 main themes: development of personal dimensions, development of psychological dimensions, development of interpersonal dimensions, development of environmental dimensions, development of financial dimensions, development of coaching dimensions, improvement of conflict and stress management, development of training and awareness, development of club performance, and development of federation performance. Ultimately, it is essential to consider the mentioned themes in this research in order to reduce aggressive behaviors among football coaches.
