Abstract

This research aims to identify challenges and influential factors in talent management in Iranian futsal academies. The study adopts a postmodern paradigm, and its nature is exploratory and developmental with a qualitative approach. Participants included sports management experts, informed stakeholders, national team coaches, and Iran's futsal premier league coaches. Data were collected through in-depth and semi-structured interviews. After data analysis, 33 initial statements were categorized into four dimensions of talent management challenges: technical and specialized weaknesses, managerial weaknesses, human resource weaknesses, and structural weaknesses. Additionally, 10 main themes and 26 concepts emerged from the initial coding, representing influential factors in talent management in football academies. These factors encompass political factors, individual skills, social factors, educational and research factors, structural factors, motivational factors, economic and financial factors, technical and specialized factors, managerial factors, and organizational factors. The support of the Football Federation and the Ministry of Sports and Education in developing specialized human resources and creating suitable conditions for talent development in futsal can have a significant impact on talent management.
