With the global promotion of football as a popular sport, the study of football fans has attracted more attention as a research field. The present study aimed to examine and determine the factors influencing the formation of club football fans' identification. This research, using the Psychological Continuum Model, seeks to comprehensively investigate all factors affecting the identification formation of Iranian football club fans. For this purpose, semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted with 27 football fans. Given the qualitative approach of the present research and the use of content analysis, coding was performed at three levels, including open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. Ultimately, 17 unique categories emerged as influential factors on fan identification in the four-level Psychological Continuum Model. These factors at the awareness level included team identity card, sociability factors, media, place and geography, football engagement, football leisure time, and demographic factors. The influential factors at the attraction level comprised football competitive elements, personal inclinations, and collectivism and social integration. Professional club factors, fan technicality, economic participation, and emotional involvement were influential at the attachment level, and ultimately, the loyalty phase included team-centered elements, football insight, and football culture. The present research demonstrated that most influential factors on identification formation occur at the awareness level and as fans move towards the loyalty level within the Psychological Continuum Model, the number of influential factors decreases, while the specialized football inclination increases.

Modern sports organizations seek to share information and knowledge management and ignoring self-censorship in these organizations can be problematic. Therefore, the present study was conducted with the aim of identifying the factors affecting human resource self-censorship and solutions to reduce it in governmental sports organizations. This research is of an applied, qualitative, and field-library type with a thematic analysis strategy using the Atride-Stirling (2001) approach. The participants in the present study were university professors of sports management and human resource management, heads of the general departments of sports and youth in provincial centers and heads of sports federations, 18 of whom were selected using a purposeful and snowball method and according to the principle of theoretical saturation. The data collection tool was a semi-structured in-depth interview and in order to analyze the data, three-stage coding of thematic analysis was used. The results of the study showed that the factors affecting self-censorship of human resources in sports organizations include individual factors, managerial factors, organizational factors and supra-organizational factors and the solutions to reduce it include improving human resource knowledge, promoting a spirit of collaboration, making managers pay attention to insecurities, providing incentives to human resources, combating flattery and correcting faulty organizational practices. Therefore, managers of sports organizations can, by considering the effective factors and applying the solutions provided, provide the necessary basis for reducing self-censorship of human resources in sports organizations, benefit from all the knowledge capacities of these valuable resources and promote their active and honest participation in sports organizations.

The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the key components influencing player motivation in Premier League football clubs. Using a mixed-method approach, the researcher reviewed previous studies and conducted expert interviews to extract motivational factors, followed by a questionnaire survey to assess their relative impact on players. The analysis identified four main components affecting motivation: (1) methods of evaluating player performance, (2) maintaining the dignity and status of athletes, (3) personality characteristics, and (4) financial mechanisms and club amenities. The findings revealed that respect and maintaining athletes’ dignity, along with financial incentives and reward systems, had the strongest influence on player motivation. Conversely, club amenities and welfare facilities, such as housing, medical services, and insurance, had the least effect, suggesting that players do not highly value these aspects or have adjusted their expectations accordingly. Additionally, personality traits such as self-confidence, mental stability, and determination were closely linked to higher motivation and better performance under competitive pressure. Overall, the results highlight that psychological and moral factors play a crucial role in sustaining athlete motivation alongside financial rewards. It is recommended that sports organizations and clubs reinforce respect-based values through adherence to ethical codes, transparency in financial activities, and increased athlete involvement in decision-making. Strengthening these elements can foster a greater sense of value, commitment, and motivation among professional football players, ultimately contributing to improved individual and team performance in competitive environments.
